Back in 1993, when Saint Etienne did a short December tour and were looking for support acts. Alan McGee, our manager at this point, was very enthusiastic about a new group from Manchester he'd just signed to Creation and gave us a cassette with three or four songs on it - one of these was Live Forever and, quite obviously on first listen, it was brilliant. Oasis supported us in Birmingham and Glasgow where they almost certainly turned their amps up to eleven. They were LOUD.
